Finally. And scary.
Since there're lots of series this season I want to watch, I'm willing to take a break from a few of them, but there are still 3-4-5 ah, I mean- anyway, a couple of them I must follow. But it's nano. So I decided that I can watch an episode every 1k words. If I couldn't write during the day, then I won't watch until I reach the daily wordcount, only on Tikahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05362158494549841611noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4428837598784185809.post-68673070167932445832013-10-29T21:13:00.000+01:002013-10-29T21:13:43.967+01:00November, here I coooooome~!
It's that time of the year, again. November. The smell of drying, colourful leaves and new TV series in the air, and the perfect time for a cup of hot cocoa or tea, writing your novel in 30 days.
I won't describe Nano again, if you don't know what I'm talking about, nice to meet you, my name is Tika and you can check out this website.
This hopefully means there'll be more posts for the Tikahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05362158494549841611noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4428837598784185809.post-70667893076240868692013-07-14T13:59:00.000+02:002013-07-14T13:59:46.434+02:00Completion - and guilt (warning: honesty rush)
I have great news! On 28th June, I finished the second volume of Successors of Time! I'm very happy and have resumed revision of the 1st volume, though it's been on and off since then.
When I get home from work, I usually feel exhausted and the last thing I want to do is to pick up the red pen and read through all that I've written 2,5 years ago and fix it. But when I do get to do it, somehow, Tikahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05362158494549841611noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4428837598784185809.post-49526417708246648662012-11-23T00:09:00.000+01:002012-11-23T00:09:20.958+01:00To press onO-o, I haven't written a blog post in November, yet, BUT IT'S NANOWRIMO!
How could I do that...?
It all started with a 4-day weekend for us. November 1st is a national holiday here, and the 2nd was a Friday, which automatically became a day where we don't go to work, but had to do that work on the next Saturday... Don't ask, I don't see the point, either - it's not like anyone else in the EU areTikahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05362158494549841611noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4428837598784185809.post-65815984648599953862012-10-26T19:25:00.001+02:002012-10-26T19:25:59.994+02:00Changing your mind
So, here we are... actually, it was on the 23rd when I changed my mind about what I write for this year's NaNoWriMo.
In my earlier post, I've told you that this time I would write a romcom, which is not a genre I usually write in, and I still like that novel idea, very, very much (though it might be a better script-idea), so I will write it sometime in the future, but now I'm going back to myTikahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05362158494549841611noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4428837598784185809.post-86799289951810581282012-10-15T20:45:00.002+02:002012-10-15T20:45:09.221+02:00Preparation for NaNoWriMo
Oh, yes. It's that time of the year, again. Almost November.
NaNoWriMo is just around the corner! Because I had other obligations (still have, actually), I think I'll only begin my preparation the end of this week. I'll still have about 2 weeks and that's plenty of time.
I already have an idea, BUT it seems I like to make it harder on myself every year.
I'm a fantasy writer. Sometimes, I Tikahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05362158494549841611noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4428837598784185809.post-62622318196449557912012-09-08T15:00:00.001+02:002012-09-08T15:00:45.319+02:00Knowing your habits / nature
There are plenty of posts about sticking to one project till the end, before starting a new. And that you should have perseverance and it will get you nowhere if you just jump around projects, whenever you feel like it. You should do this. You should do that. Because that's how it works for me, so it should work for you, too.
Right?
No way. Everyone's different (which is a good thing, Tikahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05362158494549841611noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4428837598784185809.post-79539509032034096912012-05-01T17:02:00.001+02:002012-05-01T17:02:23.039+02:00Planning
As for the last 2 weeks (that's when I last wrote about ROW80, right?), I've met my goals - I wrote more than 6k per week. Last week, I became a bit impatient and wanted to pick up the pace, but I realized shortly that I'm starting to do what I do during November: write, write, write and sometimes scenes doesn't have a point or characters are thinking too much and the plot just isn't progressingTikahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05362158494549841611noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4428837598784185809.post-5834058780795417062012-04-15T14:14:00.000+02:002012-04-15T14:14:00.559+02:00ROW 80 R2 #3I almost did a check-in on Thursday (I have no idea what's with this lateness this week), but in the end, decided against it. Last week, I declared Thursday as my day-off. Even if I want to write something, I just find something else to do (watch movie, read book, etc.), because I need some break, to recharge my energy and/or writing skills, etc. And Thursday is literally the middle of the week Tikahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05362158494549841611noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4428837598784185809.post-54280576299883266472012-04-09T10:35:00.001+02:002012-04-09T10:36:59.089+02:00ROW 80 R2 #2I know it's Monday, but it's still Sunday in some parts of the world, so it's okay, right? Right?!
It was very late last night when I wrote the remaining words to reach 6000 for last week, so that's why. And yeah, I've reached my goal for last week! Weeehee! You already know about the first three days; I took a break on Thursday, then Friday was over with 1076 words, Saturday I've written 1449 Tikahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05362158494549841611noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4428837598784185809.post-6236687733777175582012-04-04T14:23:00.001+02:002012-04-04T14:24:12.665+02:00ROW80 R2 #1 & GoalsWeee! A Wednesday check-in! Quite rare from me, isn't it?Ahem. Let's state my goals for this round. Even though it half-worked in round 1, now it's already spring and I have more energy. Also, I have goals (and self-proclaimed deadlines) beyond ROW80, so I thought I must pick up my pace a little.
The details are... flexible. Originally, I wanted to write 2 pages per day. Every day. But I realizedTikahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05362158494549841611noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4428837598784185809.post-76967748612765873802012-03-24T11:28:00.000+01:002012-03-24T11:28:12.031+01:00ROW 80 R1 - Final check inThis is actually my third check-in for Round 1. Told you that writing a blog wasn't my forte...Ahem, anyway~
My last check-in was on 15th January. Let's see what happened after, a quick summary:The week starting with 16th was all right. I met my goal to write at least 500 words 4 days per week. Even the week after that was successful! Yay! Though only 3 days had I wrote more than 500 words. So I'm sorry in advance if this will be awkward, I'm still familiarizing myself with the whole thing. And as I said, I'll probably do 1 check-in per week.
My goal was to write at least 500 words for 4 days per week - ticked. I wrote almost 2,5k in 4 days. I didn't write from Wednesday to Friday, because I caught the cold. Basically, it's a writing challenge where you set the goals for 80 days. There are four (80-days) rounds in a year, the next one starts tomorrow.
And since I have a degree now, NaNoWriMo is over and I'm still looking for a job, this seems the perfect time to finally join! So here're my goals for the 1st round of 2012:write at least 500 words 4 days per Tikahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05362158494549841611noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4428837598784185809.post-18112027451259993192011-12-27T21:10:00.001+01:002011-12-27T21:10:51.951+01:00November summaryOkay. So the Christmas preparations and a little contest on DeviantArt took my attention away and I realized that I won't be able to remember in detail , so... with my little NaNoWriMo postcard before me (which has wordcounts and happy or neutral or sad smileys on it and even some red worms) I'll try to sum the whole month up.I mean, what remained after the 1st week (since I already have a post Tikahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05362158494549841611noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4428837598784185809.post-81057936865204076242011-12-05T14:04:00.000+01:002011-12-05T14:04:49.792+01:00NaNoWriMo summary - Week #1.
I... wanted to write every few days or at least once every week, but... well, yeah, it's been hectic. So I'll do a series of 5 posts for every week in the following... weeks. I hope it'll be every few days, then again... I'll try.

I) Historical (Regency) Novels
Historical novels became popular in the romantic period. Its characteristics includes the accuracy of details and language usage.

They are about ideal (utopian) and non-ideal (distopian) societies. Distopias are always warnings. Most utopias deal with the meaning of life.Who makes your decisions in your life?  Tikahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05362158494549841611noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4428837598784185809.post-86905593226664582982011-08-25T20:57:00.002+02:002011-10-04T11:32:40.252+02:00Book Review: Red by Kait Nolan
This isn't the first time I've read a book by Kait. She's working on a series, including novellas and short stories in the Mirus Universe she created. But Red isn't one of them; actually, it's a YA, different than Kait's other books.
I thought I was over my YA reading period. But since the excerpt Kait posted on her blog back in December, I was curiously waiting when it'd be finished.
